HP has announced the company first Chromebox, a compact PC that runs Google’s Chrome OS. Just like Apple Mac Mini it only comes with desktop unit. Earlier, the Asus and Samsung even LG has shown the Crhomebase all in one desktop at the CES 2014.

The Chrombox is powered by an Intel 4th generation Haswell micro architecture processor that is more than enough to run Chrome OS. The company also offers the high-end variant of Chromebox that would come with a 4th gen Intel Core i7processor. Similar to other the HDMI, Display Port, Bluetooth, WI-Fi and USB 3.0 ports for connectivity are available with the device. Since, it has both HDMI and a Display Port that allow you to connect it with two monitors.

There are no words on the memory or storage but it also supports a standard VESA mount if you want to attach the little computer to the back of a display.

The HP Chromebox comes in four different color including Snow White, Smoke Silver, Ocean Turquoise, and Twinkle Black that would be available in the US some time in 2nd Quarter.

If the company has to compete with the recently announced Asus Chromebox lines starts at just $179. Then, HP will need to come up with a competitive price than looks alone.
