Samsung Galaxy K zoom launching in India soon exclusively on Amazon


Samsung unveiled the Galaxy K zoom at an event in Singapore back in April. It is the second camera specialised-smartphone from the company, the first being the Galaxy S4 Zoom. Samsung is planning to launch the smartphone in India soon and it would go on sale exclusively on Amazon.in. Notably, the online retailer is also running a Galaxy K zoom contest for consumers that will end on July 13, which tips that the Galaxy K Zoom might see the light of the day in mid-July.

 

The Galaxy K zoom offers a 20.7MP rear camera with Xenon Flash, BSI Sensor, OIS and 10x optical zoom with a display of 4.8-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display and powerd by a 1.7 GHz Dual Core + 1.3 GHz Quad Core Exynos (5260) processor with Mali-T624 GPU. The camera feature being a rarity in the smartphone world. The mobile phone runs under the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system and also sports a wide range of specific Samsung features and applications loaded on top of it.

Moreover, the smartphone includes a 2MP front camera for video calling. Sadly, its back camera is only capable of full HD video recording, and not 4K, as the Galaxy S5.It has 2GB RAM and comes with 16GB of internal memory instead of 8GB of storage in the international variant. It has 4G LTE, DLNA, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.0 LE, GPS + GLONASS, NFC and packs a 2,430mAh battery.

 

Amazon India has confirmed the launch via a teaser image on its website and has also revealed that the handset will be exclusive to it. The Amazon India teaser image shows a coming soon tagline for the Samsung Galaxy K zoom with no word on the release date. The news broke out with a tweet from Amazon India about the new camera-focused handset.
